Over many years there has been much confusion about among Belle Isle's many institutions: the Casino. this is not a gambling casino, but uses the old sense of the phrase, an area "public entertainments." This Casino has been used for this purpose since the original structure was integrated the 1880s, in the role of a gathering area for Detroiters for generations.
The first building to be called the Casino was built-in 1887, as Belle Isle was being turned into a municipal park. It was constructed to support events, bazaars, and things of that nature, which its successor was designed to do too. The original building burnt down during the early 1900s.
The original building was replaced in 1907 which has a building designed by the firm of Van Leyen and Schilling. This building has check here continued to serve its function successfully for more than 10 years now, as well as future seems to become secure well to the future, inspite of the problems that Belle Isle has experienced in recent years.
